Princeton, NJ: When you look up and down the Hun School football roster, you can see why the Raiders went 9-0 in 2021 and won the Northeast Prep League title with ease.
It's filled with players in every class that are stars or are working hard to become the next star.
Luke Sutphen fits the latter perfectly.
The Class of 2024 outside linebacker and tight end got to work every day with TE Owen Anderson, who signed with Illinois after a stellar career with the Raiders. Sutphen got, and will get, to work against an offensive line filled with Division 1 players. It is something that will make the sophomore so much better in the coming years and will harden him to play at the next level.
Sutphen is already 6-3, 215 pounds, and is working hard in the weight room to add muscle. He also has a 78-inch wingspan, a 4.3 second 5-10-5 shuttle, and is a two-sport star: Sutphen plays on the loaded Hun lacrosse team as well.
In the classroom, Sutphen has a 3.5 GPA, which will only get better over the next few semesters.
Here is a scouting report on the sophomore from a coach:
“Look at this player: he already has the frame to become great. Sutphen is 6-3 with a monster wingspan and will probably go into his junior season with another 15 pounds of muscle. Every day at practice, he gets to work against a whole line of Division 1 players, as well as Marco Lainez.
“He also has some weapons around him on defense that could allow Sutphen to post some big numbers in his junior year. Hun is loaded and will most certainly be fighting for top team in the country again after finishing 2021 as the best prep team in the nation. Sutphen has a very big opportunity to come through 2022 with a lot of offers. I think he is going to shine in this program.”
